Smart Authoring keeps what already works.
Compatibility and capacity are separate checks. DVD-ready MPEG-2 is written unchanged; only video that breaks DVD-Video rules is converted — and compression happens only if you agree.
DiscStudio authors DVD-Video, Blu-ray and 4K UHD discs, builds TV menus for your own photos and music, and writes them with honest capacity checks — then reads every byte back to prove it.
From a family DVD to a 4K UHD master and a Red Book audio CD — authored by engines built in-house and checked against real players before anything reaches a blank disc.

H.264 up to 1080p, HEVC 3840×2160 with HDR10 metadata carried through. Compliant streams are remuxed, not re-encoded.
Open a copied DVD or Blu-ray folder or an ISO. DiscStudio finds the real main movie and lets you tick titles, audio and subtitles.
After writing, the disc is read back and compared with the source files or image. The result, and its log, are kept with the job.
Shrink a video to a target size or quality with hardware encoders.
Mode 2 sectors, gaps and CD-Text, written disc-at-once.
Scene thumbnails from the movie, audio selection, remote-control highlights.
A full media player lives inside DiscStudio: files, folders, disc images and the disc in your drive, with a remote for DVD menus and the details of everything that plays.
Put the wedding film next to the photos, the speeches and the first-dance song. Players get real menus; computers get a tidy PERSONAL folder with an index page.
Click the screen, then use ←↑→↓, Enter and Esc.
Move the sliders. This follows DiscStudio's own rules: a 32 MiB safety margin on DVDs, and your personal files never cause the movie to be compressed.
Every project runs the same checks, whether it is a data backup or a UHD movie. Long jobs keep a log you can open afterwards.
Drop videos, photos, music or a copied disc folder. Streams are analysed straight away.
Compatibility, capacity, the inserted media and the tools are checked — problems are named before you start.
VIDEO_TS or BDMV is built, menus are drawn, and the result is opened in a disc navigator.
Burn at a speed the drive reports, finalize, then read the disc back and compare.
The everyday tools are free. Pro adds high-definition discs and personal TV menus; Studio adds legacy formats and expert controls.

Paid licences are not on sale yet. Features and plans may change before launch; the table always shows what each plan includes.
Some limits are the point. They are written into the engines, the preflight and the tests.
A 20-minute clip is not inflated to fill a DVD. Unused space stays unused.
CSS and AACS discs are detected and refused. Nothing is decrypted.
Personal folders open only when you choose. No scripts start from the disc.
Each format card shows its true engine status. Unfinished work says so.

One file. Bring a writer, a blank disc and something worth keeping.
Velorex Design builds tools for people who still put what matters on a disc — the wedding film, the family photos, the album you want to hear exactly as it was mastered.
DiscStudio started from a simple frustration: burning software that guesses at capacity, re-encodes video it did not need to touch, and calls a job finished without reading the disc back. So we wrote the engines ourselves and checked each one against real players and real discs.
Our rules are short. Say what a disc can hold before writing it. Keep good video untouched. Verify every burn. Never break copy protection, and never pretend an unfinished feature is ready.
